Oxford English Dictionary Removing "Flange" and "Moist"

After much public outcry the words “Flange” and “Moist” have been removed from the most recent edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

It’s not all good news for the prudish Middle Classes however, many other cringe worthy words narrowly escaped the chop including, Curd, Squirt and Smear. It is thought however that with enough public support these and many other uncomfortable words could be removed in the following years.

Several Linguists have even gone so far as to speculate that the Oxford English Dictionary will be able to successfully reduce its total word count to double digits by 2020.

Professor Sally O’Brien chair of the Oxford English Dictionary board remarked on the new direction: “Like many others, I just feel uncomfortable hearing these words and removing them from the English language has been truly liberating.”
